Saving Faith Is Living Faith

Romans 6:1-2: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

If one*s faith is not powerful enough to save him from a life of sin, how can it save him from the wages of sin? There are many who claim to be saved who unashamedly continue in sin. Carnal Christians who continue in sin and only occasionally in righteousness are difficult to know from non-Christians. The pattern of the Christian life is to continue in righteousness. The pattern of an unbeliever*s life is to continue in sin. Continuing in righteousness should certainly outweigh continuing in sin in the life of a believer.

John 8:31: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 15:9b: . . . continue ye in my love.
Acts 13:43b: . . . continue in the grace of God.
Acts 14:22b: . . . continue in the faith,
Romans 11:22b : . . . continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Colossians 4:2: Continue in prayer, . . .
1 Timothy 2:15b: . . . continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1 Timothy 4:16a: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: . . .
2 Timothy 3:14a: But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned . . .
Hebrews 13:1a: Let brotherly love continue. . . .
